Bidirectional radiation of the slot antenna has been converted into directive radiation by using 4 4 unit cells of artificial magnetic conductor. Further, the gap among the slot antenna and AMC surface has been kept at 10mm only which makes the antenna low profile. Verification of this occurrence is confirmed by carrying out a simulation. The antenna records an impedance bandwidth (S11 < ?10dB) of 6% after integrating it with an AMC surface. The simulated peak gain of 8.38dB is obtained at the centre frequency of 2.4GHz. Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.Artificial magnetic conductor (AMC); Electromagnetic band-gap structure (EBG); Metamaterial; Slot antennaHigh gain slot antenna by using artificial magnetic conductorBook chapter
