Abstract
Increasing population levels all over the globe are constantly pushing toward the exploitation of available natural resources, leading to further unsustainable development of infrastructure. The unsustainable development of infrastructure is additionally contributing to the development of an ecosystem that may be harmful for all living beings, including humans. However, the difficulty in reaching a consensus over the measurement of sustainability is among the biggest limitations in ensuring its prevalence. The chapter is an attempt toward understanding the aspects relating to the measurement of sustainability. These aspects involve sustainability among manufacturers and also in the supply chain. Measurement of sustainability involving selection of suitable indicators, monitoring and evaluation processes can efficiently and effectively move toward sustainable growth and development of infrastructure. 2020 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
