The dielectric and time co-related decay properties of Au8 and Mn-doped (Au7Mn) clusters, prepared through wet chemical technique mediated by L-Cysteine methyl ester (LCME), have been analyzed with the help of a high-precision impedance analyzer (Wayne Kerr 6500B) and Horiba Scientific time co-related single-photon counting (TCSPC) instrument. The real part of the dielectric constant varies linearly from temperature 10 - 100 K, irrespective of frequency, and it shows a substantial dielectric onset within a temperature window of 100 - 300 K, at low frequency. The dielectric onset was a shift towards higher temperature when the frequency is increased. While, for Au7Mn cluster, the RDEC value varies almost independently within a temperature scale of 10 - 200 K. A strong dielectric onset was observed from temperature 200 - 300 K, which shifted towards higher temperature value with increment in the frequency. From the frequency-dependent dielectric study, the activation energy of both Au8 and Au7Mn clusters has been estimated to be 0.0118 meV and 0.0144 meV, respectively. The decay behavior of Au7Mn cluster confirms an average life-time of ~326 ns, whereas the average lifetime of Au8 cluster is reported to be ~680 ps. 2020 American Institute of Physics Inc..
