The kinetics of the bacterial reduction of perchlorate (ClO4?) was studied at a wide range initial concentration (1550 mg/L), hydraulic retention times (HRTs - 22, 10, and 6.5 hrs) and ClO4?:CH3COO? mass ratio of 1:4 using Monod, Stover-Kincannon, Han-Levenspeil, and Wayman-Tseng models. The maximum substrate utilization rate (Umax), half-saturation constant (ks) and saturation value constant (KB) were found out using the models and compared with the experimental values. The correlation coefficient (R2) between the experimental and modeled values for all the models was more than 0.97. The Wayman-Tseng model predicted perchlorate removal rate efficiently over a wide concentration range. 2024 The Authorsen_US
